RAPIDREALTY CEO Anthony Lolli grew up poor, but that's never stopped him from helping those less fortunate. From the day we opened our doors, giving back to the community has been a fundamental part of our company.
Anthony encourages everyone he works with to give back, and our franchisees and agents have taken up the call. Click here to see photos of the RAPIDREALTY team working together to improve the lives of people in need and enrich their community.
As we've grown, so has our companywide commitment to helping others. Today, we are proud to support a wide range of wonderful local and national charities. Read on to learn about some of these great organizations and to find out how you can get involved.
As the son of a WWII veteran and someone who has helped multiple veterans become successful small business owners, Anthony cares deeply about ensuring our nation's military personnel receive the support they deserve. That's why he was proud to make RAPIDREALTY the chief sponsor of a luncheon event introducing OWW to Brooklyn.
OWW, a David Lynch Foundation national initiative, seeks to assist veterans, active-duty military personnel, and first responders in coping with and overcoming PTSD. On 9/18/13, Anthony spoke alongside OWW co-chair Ed Schloeman, a Vietnam Marine Disabled Veteran, at an event entitled "Stand Up to Military Suicides."
Anthony also played a major role in organizing this event, from securing the location to ensuring it was attended by top figures from Brooklyn's business and political communities and covered by local media outlets.
In October 2012, the agents and franchisees of RAPIDREALTY's Astoria and Bushwick offices, joined by CEO Anthony Lolli and COO Carlos Angelucci, came together to help Habitat for Humanity refurbish the Breukelen Houses, a massive public housing complex in Canarsie, Brooklyn that is home to over 4,000 people.
The Breukelen Houses provide affordable homes for hundreds of low-income families. In addition, the Bruekelen Community Center has served as one of the city's nine winter emergency warming stations for the homeless since 2007.
With guidance from Habitat for Humanity, the RAPIDREALTY team put the bulk of their efforts toward creating a fun and inviting space for young children to learn and play together.
Anthony Lolli is one of many lifelong dog lovers here at RAPIDREALTY, which is just one reason why we were delighted to sponsor the 2nd Annual Family Fun Dog Walk fundraiser in Manhattan, which raised money for two wonderful causes:
Ronald McDonald House New York, which provides an amazing array of services for children and the families of children battling cancer; and Angel on a Leash, a nonprofit organization that establishes therapy dog programs in health care centers.
The event was hosted by Emmy winner Cat Greenleaf, from NBC's "Talk Stoop," and David Frei, longtime co-host of the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show and chair of Angel on a Leash.
Anthony never stops looking for ways to give back, even when he's far from home. While out in San Francisco for the Golden Bridge Awards, he took the opportunity to make a generous contribution to the Martinez, CA Police Officer's Association on the eve of their fundraiser to support the Tarantino Starzyk Memorial Fund.
Named in honor of two Martinez police officers who gave their lives in the line of duty, this fund provides scholarships to high school students who are interested in law enforcement.
RAPIDREALTY believes that everyone should have access to the same opportunities regardless of wealth or status, particularly when it comes to education. That's why we are proud supporters of The Filomeno Family Awards Foundation, which provides school supplies, counseling, scholarships, and other services to help children from low-income families finish their education and to lower the dropout rate.
In August, 2013, in recognition of RapidRealty's ongoing support and sponsorship, the Filomeno Family Awards Foundation presented Anthony Lolli with a special plaque (as well as a homemade birthday cake).
Since 2012, RAPIDREALTY has been a proud sponsor of the annual Hope With Every Step 5K fundraiser in Valley Stream, NY, which raises money to support the A-T Children's Project, a nonprofit organization leading the fight against Ataxia-telangiectasia, a rare, progressive genetic disease that predominantly affects children.
RAPIDREALTY franchises Martin and Michele Charles of Forest Hills, Queens initially brought this fundraising event and the A-T Children's Project to our attention. We've been honored to join them, and numerous other local families, in raising money for this deserving cause and shedding light on this little-understood condition.
Anthony has immense appreciation for senior citizens. His father, who was a huge inspiration to him, was already 50 when Anthony was born, so he knows that a person doesn't have to be young to be a great role model.
That's why Anthony was delighted to have RAPIDREALTY sponsor a screening of Lee Daniels' The Butler for over 300 seniors from all over Queens in an event organized by New York State Senator James Sanders, Jr. as part of the 11th Annual Senior Appreciation Month.
RAPIDREALTY joined forces with NY State Senator Eric Adams to support Youth America, a Brooklyn-based nonprofit that provides a wide range of community enrichment programs for underserved youth and their families.
Youth America's longest-running program is the hands-on internship they offer for students at Brooklyn Vogue, their high-end clothing boutique. Interns learn about all aspects of the business, from customer service to marketing to choosing inventory, developing the tools they need to become successful entrepreneurs, whether they choose to work in fashion or any other industry. All proceeds at Brooklyn Vogue go right back into helping the community.
Please support Youth America by shopping at Brooklyn Vogue, 777 Fulton St, Brooklyn, NY 11217
Anthony was proud to contribute to the establishment of the Cipolla-Schochet Broadcast Journalism Scholarship at Christ the King Regional High School in Middle Village, Queens. Created by local TV personality and Wall Street Journal Radio news anchor Frank Cipolla, this scholarship will help graduating seniors who are interested in pursuing careers in broadcast journalism.
Anthony believes that the key to greatness is getting an early start. That's why he is passionate about providing opportunities for young people, and ensuring they have the tools for success, regardless of their economic background. He hopes that this scholarship might one day inspire the next great news anchor.
In 2011, Anthony led RAPIDREALTY's franchisees in creating a fundraising event called Comedy for a Cause. With the help of celebrity emcee Ray Dejon and several popular local stand-up comics, as well as the manpower and salesmanship of RAPIDREALTY's franchisees and agents, they staged a phenomenal night of laughter and music in Queens that raised thousands of dollars to benefit the American Cancer Society.
At the time, this was the largest-scale charitable event RAPIDREALTY had ever organized. It was the first time since Rapid began franchising that Anthony harnessed the increased size and resources of the company to accomplish something that would have been impossible just a year or two earlier, when the company was much smaller.
A large delegation of RAPIDREALTY agents and franchisees, as well as CEO Anthony Lolli, came together to take part in the New York City AIDS Walk.
The RAPIDREALTY team went as the "Wrap-It Ambassadors," dedicated to spreading awareness of the importance of safe sex. We donned matching T-shirts and handed out free condoms as one of the event's most enthusiastic and memorable groups.
The NYC AIDS Walk raises money for GMHC and over 40 other AIDS service organizations in the tri-state area.
Man Up! is a grassroots organization striving to improve distressed communities through programs such as neighborhood watch patrols and providing after-school activities for children.
Anthony Lolli brought some of RAPIDREALTY's best and brightest with him to speak to an audience of at-risk male teens enrolled in the Man Up! Ready 4 Work program in East New York. They shared their stories and talked about the obstacles they had to overcome on the way to success.
Anthony told the young men that if they completed the Ready 4 Work program, he would personally sponsor any of them who wished to go to real estate school and find them a position at the RAPIDREALTY office of their choosing. We are very pleased to report that all the participants have since successfully completed the program.
